Hi, I’m Reinaldo — a System Administrator who enjoys making technology work smoothly, securely, and reliably for the people who depend on it.
For the past several years, I’ve managed networks, servers, and systems in healthcare environments, where downtime isn’t just inconvenient — it matters. I’ve reduced security risks, improved system availability, and helped colleagues grow through knowledge sharing. I work with Linux, Windows, Python, Docker, and FreeBSD (pfSense), and I value Agile approaches like SCRUM. But I value the people behind the screens more than the tools themselves.
Outside of work, I’m a theologian by training and a Christian since 2014. Studying Theology and the Bible has shaped who I am: it taught me to listen carefully, serve humbly, and pursue truth with patience. It also reminds me that every system I touch, every problem I solve, and every person I help is part of something bigger than the task itself.
I believe good technology, like good theology, should serve people well — clearly, humbly, and without unnecessary complexity.
That same desire to serve shows up in my free time. I volunteer as a Spanish translator for the Ezra Bible App, a tool that helps people read and study Scripture, and I’ve contributed translations to the XFCE4 desktop website and some of its components and applications. Open-source work lets me give something back: making good tools accessible to Spanish-speaking users, whether they’re studying the Bible or simply using their computer in their own language.
What I care about:
- Doing honest, careful work — even when no one is watching
- Protecting people’s information as if it were my own
- Learning something new every day — a tool, a language, or a person’s story
- Making technology accessible to more people, in more languages
- Treating every colleague and user with kindness and respect
